About
Pastoral Ministry & Care is an 8-week course designed to equip pastors, ministers, ministry leaders, and those preparing for pastoral service with biblical and practical foundations for caring for God’s people. Students will explore the biblical role of a shepherd, pastoral character, compassionate care, effective listening and communication, spiritual guidance, crisis and grief support, healthy boundaries, ethics, confidentiality, and the development of a strong pastoral care ministry. This course emphasizes that pastoral ministry is more than preaching from the pulpit—it is a calling to serve, guide, protect, encourage, restore, and care for people with wisdom, compassion, integrity, and Christlike character. Key Scripture — 1 Peter 5:2 (KJV): “Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly…” By the end of this course, students will be better prepared to provide biblically grounded, compassionate, responsible, and healthy pastoral care within the church and community.
